Subject: Hawaii Vessel Delay – R.J. Pfeiffer 556W 

Dear Valued Customer,

We have been advised by Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) that R.J. Pfeiffer 556E was delayed into Tacoma due to severe weather. As a result, the departure will also be late. 

The vessel was estimated to depart Oakland approximately 24 hours late and is expected to arrive in Honolulu on Sunday morning, April 6. 

We do not anticipate a delay for Oahu shipments, however, we expect a 24-hour delay for Outer Island shipments. 

Our island trucking operations will be working hard to expedite the handling of your shipments and minimize any further delay. We will continue to monitor this and update you as needed.

To regain its schedule, R.J. Pfeiffer 556E will omit Tacoma on its next voyage and will only call Oakland. R.J. Pfeiffer 557W will depart Oakland on time early Tuesday morning, April 15. Due to the Tacoma bypass, there will be no eastbound freight to Tacoma on R.J. Pfeiffer 556E. 

For Tacoma customers, Matson will activate reserve vessel Maunalei to sail in place of R.J. Pfeiffer 557W. Maunalei 200W will be on time departing Tacoma on April 11 and plans to arrive early in Honolulu on April 18.
